About Us
Get to know the breeder
Hello! We’re glad you found us! Let me introduce ourselves. One of the most important things to know is where and who your new puppy comes from! Were located in the Mountains of gorgeous Tennessee. Dachshunds have been in our family for over 20 years, starting with my pa who has some of those same lines that we’ve now incorporated into our program! Our puppies are raised in our home with us and our two children. I’m a Licensed Nurse foremost, but we couldn’t keep the love of doxies to ourselves. That’s why we decided many years ago to breed happy, healthy puppies for others to get to enjoy! Myself, and my two children love adventures and the outdoors, and yes you guessed it, so do our doxies!! We are very family oriented. We take our doxies on many adventures with us. They go to the lake, kayaking, camping, road trips, etc. At Dixieland Dachshunds our dachshunds are more like family. They are our pets before anything else. Unlike most breeders, we do not overbreed our females, and they are retired at a younger age. Our retired adults usually stay here at home with us, or on very rare occasions are placed out.
Enough about us get to know your Puppy!!
Our puppies come well socialized starting at birth until they leave us. Between me, my two kids, and ALL their friends the puppies know what human touch is. We breed for health before anything, a healthy puppy is a happy puppy! We specialize in AKC/CKC miniature dachshunds in a variety of colors. All of our puppies have been vet checked by our vet, and have had their first set of vaccinations. They are dewormed on a schedule, and are started on monthly heart guard prior to leaving. Also, they leave us with a go home bag that includes the food that they are eating, toys, and a blanket with their siblings scent on it to help comfort them in their new homes. We start all our puppies on NUVET VITAMINS, and highly suggest that new puppy owners continue this as your puppy grows. Certifying that their breeding stock is health tested in accordance with the recommendations of their breed’s National Breed Club.
EDUCATION
Promising that they will pursue AKC provided or AKC approved continuing breeder education so that they stay educated on the best breeding practices, including advances in canine health.

Agreeing to comply with the AKC Care and Conditions Policy, including inspections by the AKC, and promising to share with AKC health testing and continuing education documentation.

Accepting responsibility for the health and well-being of the puppies they produce and for complying with all laws regarding the ownership and maintenance of dogs.
